What would a slight change on your license number on the professional state license result in?

somanyquestions asked:

I have a professional license with a hyphenated, license number. However, several years ago, I renewed it on-line and the system did not allow me to type hyphens so I typed in the license number with a period in place of the hyphen. Would this slight change in symbols result in negative consequences, or invalidate the license? I have a brother who also has a similar license and there are marked differences between the two despite renewing them around the same time frame.

Yes, it is fraud. Get it fixed immediately before you are caught. You can always explain if you get it fixed before someone notices the error.

There should be no difference in the manner in which you listed your license number and the hyphenated version.

You know, why screw around with something that could prove
troublesome? Just go down to the DMV, show them the license and see what they say. Simple. No worries. Go.

This seems like a question that would be better addressed to your state licensing board, not people on yahoo who have no clue.
The State will not accept ‘Joe dirt42 on Yahoo said it was OK”
They are the only judges of what is proper and what is not. If you had or have any questions relating to a professional lic, they need to be addressed to them, directly.
