it would be safe to get a business lience.because you would be running a business no matter which way you look at it you plan on charging and you plan on getting paid.
There is no state exam or license to practice. You only need general business licenses if you plan to open a new company.
You will need to figure out your structure in order to register your company with the secretary of state. You have to decide if you will be a sole proprietorship, a limited company, incorporated, corporation, limited partnership, general partnership, etc. You must register your DBA (company name). You’ll also need to look into filing city, state and federal taxes. plus you will have federal requirements if you have employees. The link below should help you and give you more info.
