(I’m just using the plates from my old car and putting them on my new one)
but i wouldn’t need to go to the DMV if I’m buying/trading through a dealer, correct?

Call the BMV and ask them! Doesn’t anyone on this forum know how to use the telephone? David W
OMG no need for mean answers!
You will need to pay sales tax on the vehicle. You need your bill of sale and the title that the seller has signed off on. You sign as buyer and then you go to the DMV and they will change everything over for you. The title is $65 and then you just need to get your reg, which is $3 and then your plates but I am not sure how much they are. tara g
