How easy is it to replace a lost license?
Heather asked:
I lost my license today and I want to replace it as soon as I can and I just want to know about the procedure for license replacement. How long will it be until I have a replacement, will there be a fee, and how can I find out if someone found my license and is using my license fraudulently? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I live in Colorado by the way. And I want to know what are things to look out for so I know if I should suspect fraud.

it really depends on the state. in mass., i just went onto their rmv site and paid for it w/ a cc, got it in 10 days. in colo i had to visit the dmv and wait 2 weeks.
go to the DMV & get your new one. if you suspect fraud, file a police report.
In Alabama if you’re not near a large town, The DMV people set up at the county court house three days a week. Be sure and take some ID with you. Your birth Certificate, or Social Security card will be enough. Pay a replacement fee, and leave with a temporary license with the replacement to be mailed to you in several weeks. Tell them that your license may have been stolen and let them deal with it. There are ways to protect yourself from someone using your identity to open accounts etc. If you use a credit card call the card company immediately and let them know. They’ll contact the three major Credit Bureaus for you and put a red flag on your name to stop any new accounts from being approved.
