How do I transfer a dog license in a different state?

You won’t be able to transfer the license. Each state and county has its own laws and procedures. Contact Animal Control in the city where you are moving. marci knows best
You don’t. You have to re license in your new state.
Make sure you have the rabies certificate from the vet. I moved from state to state. I had one of my dogs rabies shots at a pet vac clinic at pet store in my original state. Didn’t get an official rabies certificate, because they don’t issue them. they just give you your receipt with all the info include vaccine # . My new state will not accept it as proof,because its not an official certificate. so my option was to either re vaccinate or not license. Since I will not over-vaccinate one of my dogs is in violation of their laws.. They are making me violate their laws. So make sure you have everything including all vet records. Pat
A Dog license is simply registering your dog in your county/city/state. Once you move to Florida or prior to moving, look online for the county you’ll be living in and contact your Animal Control office. Some counties in different states like my own have done away with dog licensing all together.
Also, don’t forget to update your dog’s microchipping prior to moving with your new address. Then if your dog gets lost in transit, they will have the updated contact information to return your beloved pooch. Tigerbabe
