I attended a full cosmetology school (hair, skin and nails) for 5 months then decided to drop class.

I wasn’t enjoying the skin and nail portion of school, however I am still interesting in hair.

My ultimate goal is to someday have my own salon specializing in haircuts, color, pinch braid extensions, and dreadlocks.

Is a full Cosmetology license necessary?
Will I have trouble finding a job in a salon?
Please answer only if you’ve HAD experience.

I received my license in 1995 but due to an illness I let them expire now in better place and son in school would like to give it another try. I live in N.C.

I have a cosmetologist license, but i didn’t know if I could perform this service or if i need to have an esthetician license. Does any one know the answer or a web site that know the answer?
