What does this abbreviation on an old marriage license mean?
class act asked:
Near the bottom of the page for Walter Payton Stafford and Ellie Agnes Smith, Walter Payton Smith and Willie L. Smith have signed the license. After each of the spaces to sign, there are the initials “L.S.” What does that stand for?
